It’s Dussera time! One of the days of the festival is Ayudha Puja. Ayudha means weapon (we interpret these to be tools), and Puja means worship. So that morning we wash all the cars, and do a little ceremony. This is my mother during that process.
Bikash
This week’s theme is “My Neighbors / People”. This one’s going to be really rough for me. There aren’t too many people here to photograph and even the few that exist don’t like having photos taken. Hopefully I can make it through the week :)
This is Bikash. He’s one of the security guards who works at our house. He’s also an incredibly talented artist with a pen and paper. He draws random stuff when he’s sitting around. Some of it is really quite good.
London Bridge
This is another Dussera decoration that has been brought out. I thought I’d shoot it in blue light to see how it looked and I think it turned out ok.
Umbrella
Somehow, everytime I go to Goa (well, to be fair I’ve only been twice) it has been cloudy and rainy. I went on a walk on the beach and took an umbrella with me just in case it started raining while I was gone. I didn’t feel like also taking my DSLR with me, so I took this photo on my iPhone. I love the color of the sky and the ocean and the sand. This picture does it no justice though – it was so much prettier to see through the naked eye.
Crab in the Sand
This is another picture from Goa. I took it on my iPhone when walking along the beach. I almost stepped on it since it’s so hard to see.
